We can't promise you much besides white-sand beaches infested with palm trees; small villages with spice bazaars and markets where the shopping malls should be; meandering verdant back-roads where intractable cattle and crazed pigs are more commonplace than mini-roundabouts and traffic lights; seafood so fresh it unfortunately never made it to the freezer; an oddball blend of Hindi and Western pop music rather than your Saturday night ritzy.

Oh, and somewhere in the midst of all that, we will be there, up to our necks in wedding plans and paraphernalia.
